THE COMPOUND

De naam Dyprax is afgeleid van Dypraxa, een fictief farmaceutisch middel uit de film The Constant Gardener (2005). In de film geneest of doodt het medicijn — een dualiteit die de intensiteit van Robert ter Harmsels muziek weerspiegelt. Geboren en getogen in Hengelo, een stad in de Twentse regio van Nederland, begon Robert al in 2007 met live optredens onder de naam Dyprax op evenementen als Hemelrave en Irreversible in de Twentse regio.

In 2010 werd Dyprax gesigned bij Masters of Hardcore, een van de grootste merken in de hardcorescene. Hij werd geïntroduceerd als “The New Hardcore Revelation” — een titel verdiend door rauw productietalent en meedogenloze energie achter de draaitafels. Zijn debuut-EP Fuck Your Pride (MOH031) kondigde zijn komst aan met onmiskenbare kracht.

Als lid van Denekamps Gespuis — een collectief vernoemd naar het kleine Twentse dorp Denekamp — stond Dyprax naast enkele van de grootste namen in de hardcore: Angerfist, Crypsis, Radical Redemption en MC Prozac (Bloodcage). Het collectief stond voor een rauwe, compromisloze benadering van hardcore die het tijdperk definieerde.

Gedurende zijn carrière werd Dyprax belast met 5 officiële anthems, waaronder Statement of Disorder (Masters of Hardcore 2011, feat. MC Tha Watcher), Culture of Chaos (Project Hardcore PH12, feat. MC Syco), Arise (Masters of Hardcore Austria 2013, met State of Emergency), Posse of the Hard (Syndicate 2015, feat. MC Nolz) en Music In My Head (Free Festival 2016, feat. MC Tha Watcher).

In 2016 lanceerde Dyprax het “Xclusive” live-act concept samen met MC Mozhard. Deze samenwerking bracht een nieuwe dimensie aan zijn optredens, waarbij live vocals werden gecombineerd met intense DJ-sets. Datzelfde jaar verscheen The Plague, dat zijn meest gestreamde track zou worden met meer dan 1,28 miljoen Spotify-streams.

Bekend binnen het Masters of Hardcore-roster als “Mr. Xclusive”, besloeg Dyprax’ carrière de jaren 2007–2018 met piekactiviteit van 2010 tot 2018, waarin hij 34 releases uitbracht en optrad op grote evenementen in meer dan 15 landen. Na het aflopen van zijn contract in 2019 keerde Dyprax in 2023 terug als onafhankelijk artiest, met internationale boekingen in Australië, Spanje, Portugal en Nederland.

2007

Underground Beginnings

Robert ter Harmsel performs his first live sets under the name Dyprax at local events in the Twente region, including Hemelrave in Hengelo and Irreversible in Oldenzaal. 2 documented performances. The underground years that would later prove crucial for his trademark claim.

2008

Regional Circuit

Continues building his name across the eastern Netherlands with 4 performances at Vitalcore (Almelo), Hemelrave (Hengelo), Dossier: Hardcore (Deventer), and a private event in Oldenzaal. Already a recognized name on the regional hardcore circuit before any label involvement.

2010

Signed to Masters of Hardcore

Dyprax signs with Masters of Hardcore Recordings via Most Wanted DJ / A&A Music. 12 confirmed bookings in his first year, spanning Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Switzerland. Debut at Syndicate (Dortmund) and events across Europe mark the start of the international career.

2011

Masters of Hardcore Anthem

Creates 'Statement of Disorder' featuring MC Tha Watcher as the official Masters of Hardcore anthem. A career-defining moment within one year of signing. Collaborates with Angerfist on 'The Pearly Gates' and 'The Before'.

2011

Breakout Year

55 confirmed bookings across 14 countries including Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Portugal, Ukraine, and the UK. Performs at Dominator, Free Festival, Hardcore 4 Life, Decibel Outdoor, Syndicate, Nature One, and Masters of Hardcore Lotto Arena. The busiest year of his career.

2012

Project Hardcore Anthem

Produces 'Culture of Chaos' featuring MC Syco as the Project Hardcore anthem. 52 confirmed bookings spanning Europe and Australia, including Defqon.1, Defqon.1 Australia (Sydney), Dominator, Emporium, Free Festival, Syndicate, and Masters of Hardcore events.

2013

International Touring

36 confirmed bookings across Europe and Australia. Performs at Masters of Hardcore, Defqon.1, Dominator, Free Festival, Emporium, Nature One, and Syndicate. Releases 'The Future E.P.' and 'Exorcism E.P.'

2014

Bodyshock Partnership Begins

Launches ongoing collaboration with Bodyshock, releasing the 'Synchronized E.P.' together. 32 confirmed bookings including Masters of Hardcore, Supersized Kingsday, ADE, Hard Dance Event, Project Hardcore, Free Festival, Dominator, Decibel Outdoor, and Nature One.

2015

Syndicate Anthem & Bodyshock B2B

Creates 'Posse of the Hard' featuring MC Nolz as Syndicate 2015 anthem. 23 confirmed bookings including Dominator (B2B with Bodyshock), Project Hardcore (B2B with Bodyshock), Radical Redemption, Emporium, Free Festival, and Nature One. B2B sets with Bodyshock become a signature format.

2016

Free Festival Anthem & Global Reach

Produces 'Music In My Head' featuring MC Tha Watcher as the Free Festival 2016 anthem. Fifth official event anthem in six years. 25 confirmed bookings across 12 countries including Russia (Moscow), Sweden (Stockholm), Australia (Melbourne, Parramatta), Czech Republic (Prague), Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, and Germany. Dominator B2B with Bodyshock. Masters of Hardcore Raiders of Rampage B2B with Bodyshock.

2016

The Plague Goes Viral

Releases 'The Plague', which becomes his most-streamed track ever with 1.28 million Spotify plays. Also drops Guerilla Games, Mortal Kombat, and launches the 'Xclusive' live-act concept with MC Mozhard.

2017

Most Prolific Festival Year

24 confirmed bookings including Defqon.1, Dominator, Airforce, The Qontinent, Ground Zero, Masters of Hardcore Skull Dynasty, Emporium, Intents, Harmony of Hardcore, Nature One, and Radical Redemption. International dates in Austria, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and Scotland. Releases six singles including Titty Pom Pom (506K streams) and Zultkoppen Koorts (435K streams).

2018

Final Masters of Hardcore Chapter

15 confirmed bookings. B2B with Bodyshock at MOH Tournament of Tyrants. International dates in Finland (Mindcore, Helsinki), France (Toxic Experience), Scotland (Creed of Chaos Tour), Belgium (Hardcore Mayhem), Croatia (Hard Island), and Spain. Dominator and Airforce Festival. Releases The Pandemic, G-Funk, and Grip The Glock (387K streams).

2019

Independent Artist

Contract with Most Wanted DJ / A&A Music ends on 4 April 2019 after 9 years. 4 confirmed bookings: Kings of Core, Airforce Festival, and two Radical Redemption events. Dyprax continues as an independent artist, reclaiming creative control. The Dyprax trademark remains registered to A&A Music B.V.

2023

Sydney Return

After a hiatus from the European circuit, Dyprax resurfaces with a set at Greenwood Hotel in North Sydney, Australia, performing alongside MBK at the Nightvisions / Alpha Empire event.

2025

International Comeback

Returns to active performing with Not Real Events (Spain, alongside Art of Fighters), Offset Events (Portugal), and Oldschool Madness (De Loft XL, Hengelo). Now managing bookings independently, building new connections with international promoters.
